The glory of this sport is that no fight is a sure shot, I would love to see Dariush come out with a W on Saturday. This has the makings to be the best fight of the night, but I give the nod to “The Menace”.If you were building the perfect mixed martial arts striker, he'd have a crisp jab, devastating leg kicks and the capacity for violence on a previously unthinkable scale. He'd throw his strikes, not one at a time as we see so often in the cage, but in dizzying combination. Crazier things have happened, don’t get me wrong. While I do think that Dariush brings a lot to the table, I think that Johnson is too good to lose this fight. With all of the hypothetical situations out of the way, I move on to make my prediction for this particular fight. Johnson has more riding on this fight, for sure. He is only 26, he can easily bounce back if he loses, but if he comes out and wins his career will be launched into the stratosphere. He is currently the 12th ranked lightweight, where would he go from there? Although this is a big fight for him (not saying it’s not a big fight for Johnson), Dariush has little to lose going into this fight. What if Dariush finishes, or wins this fight. With that being said, let’s talk about the other possibility. I think he could go on to face the winner of Dos Anjos vs. For example, if Michael Johnson wins this fight in a decisive fashion, does that put him in title contention? This would be his fifth straight win, after all. This fight brings a lot of interesting storylines to this UFC event. He was knocked out by Ramsey Nijem in his second UFC appearance. Dariush, 11-1, is 3-1 in his past four fights winning twice by submission and once by unanimous decision.
